Treasure Coast Awake the State took place at the River Warrior Lodge and on the Roosevelt Bridge.
Advocates gathered on the opening day of the 2017 opening day of the Florida Legislative session.
This year local leaders and advocates rallied for the passage of SB -10 and to counter Gov. Rick Scott and his legislative allies agenda that rewards their corporate backers while ignoring the needs of every day Floridians.
The event in Stuart was part of a series of statewide actions and events promoting a just state budget and an agenda for a “Florida that works for all Floridians.”
Awake the State started as a Facebook page that quickly grew to thousands. Every year since March 2011 Floridians have organized events in their communities.
