Three men arrested for DUI at the same scene in Indian River County on Friday night

Indian River County, Fl- Three men were arrested for DUI at the same scene in Indian River County on Friday night.

At approximately 9pm, deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Mark O’Brien and arrested him for DUI. A K9 Deputy arrived on the scene to assist with the towing of O’Brien’s vehicle.

Then, a vehicle driven by Timothy Staples drove into the back of the patrol vehicle with K9 Doc inside.

According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, it is estimated that Timothy Staples’ vehicle was traveling in excess of 40 MPH when he struck the patrol vehicle, which had all emergency lights activated at the time. It was determined that Staples was also under the influence and he was arrested for DUI.

While the crash scene was still active, another vehicle driven by Christopher Carrick drove around two marked patrol vehicles with all emergency lights activated and through the crash scene. He was also arrested.

Fortunately, K9 Doc was not seriously injured during the crash.
