Suspicious death investigated after 18-year-old man found dead in Port St. Lucie

Port St. Lucie (treasurecoast.com)- During the late-night hours of August 26, 2020, at 11:04 pm, Police responded to the BP Gas Station located at 1289 SW Del Rio Blvd, Port St Lucie; following-up on a missing person case.

Preliminary investigation revealed an eighteen-year-old white male victim was found deceased inside of his vehicle (Black, Toyota Camry).

Police are actively investigating the incident with the assistance of The St. Lucie County Medical Examiner and the Coroner’s Office.

PSL Police are actively investigating the death of an eighteen-year-old who was found deceased inside of his black Toyota Camry, on the night of August 26, 2020; in the parking lot of 1289 SW Del-Rio Boulevard, PSL.  The deceased victim has been identified as Charles John Highlands, DOB 5/4/2002, a PSL resident. The victim was shot and killed. This investigation is being treated as a homicide.  Based on the investigation, detectives believe that this is an isolated incident.
