Suspected drug dealer’s cameras leads to arrest

Suspected drug dealer’s cameras leads to arrest.

From the Martin County Sheriff:

If you purchased or sold drugs at a home in Fishermans Cove on SE Norfolk Ave. Stuart, you may soon be selected for a future booking photo.  26-year old Juan Dejesus Cabral recorded the comings and goings of all his guests. He claimed he was fearful of being robbed. The problem is, he’s in the business of illegal drug sales. On the brighter side, Cabral had excellent taste in video cameras, providing detectives with high quality video evidence of his illegal activity, plus bonus footage.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit along with the SWAT Team served a search warrant at the home located at 85 Norfolk Ave. early this morning. Inside, detectives found crack cocaine, hydromorphone, and drug paraphernalia. Six surveillance cameras were mounted throughout the property. Each camera recorded round the clock activity. One of those cameras was pointed directly at a shed in his yard. This is where he stored some of the illegal narcotics. The other cameras were pointed at the entrance and exit points of the property. This captured weeks worth of customers.

Detectives will now go through the footage.

Cabral was arrested and charged. The charges were possession of cocaine, possession of Hydromorphone and possession of drug paraphernalia. His girlfriend, 20-year old Julie Rembert, was arrested for possession. The pair was then transported to the Martin County Jail
