SUSPECT IN HOBE SOUND STABBING DEATH LOCATED AND ARRESTED IN JACKSONVILLE
Martin County, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- The Martin County Sheriff have reported that the suspect in the Hobe Sound Stabbing death has been arrested in Jacksonville.
This is what happened:
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has captured the suspect wanted in the stabbing death of a man in Hobe Sound last week.
After days of tracking leads, detectives located, and arrested 30-year old Jared Alexander Diaz in Jacksonville. The arrest took place late last night with the assistance of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, MCSO Warrants Unit and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s K-9 unit.
Diaz was wanted for the stabbing death of Robert Tyler Meadows. Meadows was stabbed inside a home in the gated community of the “Preserve” in Hobe Sound.
Detectives say the two men got in an altercation, at which time, Diaz stabbed Meadows multiple times, then fled. Martin County Sheriff’s Detectives immediately began tracking leads and setting up surveillance in areas that Diaz was reportedly hiding out. Last night, detectives located Diaz and took him into custody, but not before he jumped out of a window and tried to flee again, only to be apprehended by a highly skilled Jacksonville K-9. The images below give you an idea of the intensity of this search and capture.
Diaz was charged with manslaughter and will be transported back to Martin County to face those charges.
Thank you to everyone who helped us track and capture Diaz, especially to the K-9 that waited outside of that window in anticipation that Diaz would try to run again.
