Officer Billy Martin and Officer Joe Hogan responded and rescued the husband and wife duo out of the water.

The two reported that they were in the water for over 45 minutes. They were exhausted, but no injuries were reported.

Update 12/11

The couple live on a sailboat, and were taking a smaller boat to shore when the wake from a larger boat knocked them into the water. They were in the water for about 45 minutes, and still about 100 yards from shore when they were rescued. They were not wearing life jackets, which authorities say not only would have made it easier for them to stay afloat, but also easier for any rescue parties to spot them in the water.
