Stuart police: Beware of men posing as roof repairmen
Stuart, Florida (treasurecoast.com)- Stuart Police are warning about three men who came through our area posing as roof repairmen.
Two of the men would attempt to distract the victim while the third would try to gain access to the home to commit theft. They also would hand out a yellow flyer detailing their product and services. They would ask for the opportunity to give a demonstration.

Police say they would then go on the roof, spread out what appeared to be asphalt tar, and then demand money from the victim. Police say the three are not licensed contractors, and photos show them driving an SUV pulling a trailer with a Texas temporary tag.
Make sure when hiring individuals to work for you that you can verify they have a contractors license, and never let strangers into your home unattended.
