Stuart motorcyclist killed in fatal crash on turnpike in Indian River
Indian River, Fl- A 74 year-old-man has died after a fatal crash in Indian River.
Mr Robert Pelliccioni, 74, of Stuart, Florida was driving his Harley Davidson FXDLI. He was wearing a helmet.
Paul Wilson, 31, of Palm Beach Gardens was driving a 2015 Grand Jeep Cherokee. There was also a passenger.
The crash happened on 4/14/2018 at 10:25 PM on the Florida Turnpike at mm181.5
According to FHP, Mr Pelliccioni was traveling southbound on the turnpike south of mm181 in the inside lane.
Mr Wilson was traveling southbound of MM 181.5, in the outside lane. Mr Pelliccioni lost control of his motorcycle causing it to fall to the ground. He was thrown from onto the outside lane. Wilson’s car then struck Mr Pelliccioni before coming to a controlled stop on the outside shoulder.
Pelliccioni was taken to Indian River Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, FHP said.
Wilson and a passenger in the Jeep, Tyler Marcus Scott, 27, of Palm Beach Gardens, were not injured, FHP said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
