Stuart Community Concert Band to Perform at Kane Center

Are you looking for an afternoon of great music? Members of the Stuart Community Concert Band are getting ready for their performance of “A Leroy Anderson Retrospective.”This concert will feature tunes including The Typewriter, Bugler’s Holiday, The Girl I Left Behind Me, and many more selections.

The concert will be held at the Kane Center, located at 900 S.E. Salerno Road south of Stuart, beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2017.

Other tunes of Leroy Anderson (master American composer of light concert music, conductor, and music arranger for the Boston Pops Orchestra).You can expect to hear at the concert will  include The Syncopated Clock, The Irish Washerwoman, A Trumpeter’s Lullaby, Clarinet Candy, Jazz Pizzacato, Holiday for Winds, and other selections.

Admission tickets for the concert are $10.00 each. For more information about concert tickets, or to purchase tickets, contact the Kane Center at 772-223-7800. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.kanecenter.org. Or you can get tickets at the door.

The Stuart Community Concert Band is under the direction of Mr. Jim LeBon, who serves as the band director for Southport Middle School. The community band consists of dedicated volunteer musicians of all ages, ranging from young students to residents in their eighties, who get together and play for the love of music.

In addition to the concerts at the Kane Center, the Stuart Community Concert Band also performs for many community celebrations, holiday events, and other special occasions. The group is also available for private functions. The band is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization.

Everyone is welcome! The band has members from all walks of life and professions who happily donate their time and talents to create quality music. Bonded by our love for music, we gather every week with our instruments to rehearse and play music. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. at the North Stuart Baptist Church on U.S. 1, north of the Roosevelt Bridge.
