Stuart: Arrest in homeless man death.
The Stuart Police Department has arrested a man over the beating death of another. Police arrested Douglas Robert Evans for manslaughter over the death of John Lawson. Lawson was found dead at a homeless camp Wednesday. Police say his body was severely bruised. During the investigation police determined Lawson was fatally beaten. Evans, who lives at a nearby camp, was interviewed. Soon after he was arrested.
Evans was taken to the Martin County Jail, where he will be held on no bond.
