ST. LUCIE SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING TWO SEPARATE WEEKEND SHOOTING INCIDENTS

St. Lucie County, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- Sheriff Ken Mascara announced that his agency is investigating two separate weekend shooting incidents.
According to the Sheriff, on Saturday morning at approximately 2 a.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call indicating a person was shooting in the parking lot of Body Talk Sports Bar in the 8200 block of South U.S. 1.
“Once on scene, deputies located one victim who was transported by St. Lucie Fire Rescue for medical treatment,” said Sheriff Ken J. Mascara. “A second victim was transported by private vehicle for treatment.”
According to the Sheriff, on Sunday morning at approximately 1:40 a.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call indicating someone was shooting in the parking lot of the Back Room Tavern in the 8200 block of South U.S. 1
“This time, deputies learned that three victims had been shot and all three were taken by private vehicle for medical treatment,” Mascara said. “This appears to have taken place as a rap concert was concluding at the bar.”
According to the Sheriff, both incidents are under investigation and detectives are following up with interviewing anyone who was involved or witnessed either of these shootings.
“Our detectives are collecting video from surrounding businesses, following up on statements made at the time of the incident and gathering additional statements from those who were at either of these locations at the time of the shooting,” Mascara said. “At this time, we have no reason to believe that these were related, even though the two businesses are adjacent to each other.”
If anyone has any information about either shooting, please call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 800-273-8477 or detectives at 772-462-3230. You may be eligible for a reward.”
Due to these ongoing, active investigations, no further information is available for release at this time.
