St Lucie Sheriff’s Office Drug Arrest Ends Another Fentanyl Operation

St. Lucie County, FL – Sheriff Ken Mascara announced that a long-term investigation into a known heroin and Fentanyl drug dealer ended with an arrest Wednesday.

According to the Sheriff, detectives spent more than a month investigating 35-year-old Anthony Harris through undercover drug buys and other surveillance techniques and on Wednesday conducted a search warrant at his home in the 5500 block of N.W. Cordery Street in Port St. Lucie.

“While at the St. Lucie West Courthouse Annex to pay a fine, our deputies took Harris into custody and then conducted the search warrant at his home,” said Sheriff Ken J. Mascara. “The search of this house revealed the largest amount of Fentanyl I think our agency has ever seen.”

According to the Sheriff, detectives found 109 grams of Fentanyl, 29 grams of heroin, 25 grams of cocaine, 15 pounds of marijuana and two hand guns.

“Harris is a convicted felon, so in addition to these large amounts of narcotics, he was also illegally in possession of a firearm,” Mascara said. “Our agency continues its commitment to flushing out these drug dealers, curbing the overdoses in our community and making neighborhoods safe from the criminal element that accompanies these operations.”

Harris was charged with nine counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was also charged with nine counts of intent to sell synthetic narcotics, six counts of possession of cocaine, five counts of intent to sell cocaine, nine counts of use of a two-way device to facilitate a felony, two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, one count of trafficking heroin, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on a $935,000 bond.
