St. Lucie Sheriff retrieves body from St. Lucie Canal

St. Lucie County, Fl (treasurecoast.com) The St. Lucie Sheriff have reported that they have retrieved a  body from St. Lucie Canal.

This is what happened:

According to Sheriff Mascara, FWC responded to a 911 call earlier today regarding a possible manatee lodged in a canal behind a home near the 500 block of NE Solida Circle in Port St. Lucie.
Once on scene, FWC determined that it was in fact a human body.
They, in turn, called the Port St. Lucie Police Department who contacted the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office after establishing jurisdiction.
Upon arrival, our detectives and dive team retrieved the body of a white male between 20 and 40 years of age. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
We will provide an update once the medical examiner releases this information and next of kin has been notified.
