St Lucie River discharges to end December 29th for now
Martin County— Discharges from Lake Okeechobee will be coming to an end just in time for the New Year. The Army Corp of Engineers announced yesterday that the discharges will stop on December 29th. And starting today, discharges will be reduced down to 320 million gallons a day. The discharges started in September, and since then over 125 billion gallons of water have been dumped from Lake Okeechobee and into the St Lucie River.
