St. Lucie County Veteran Services Honors Vietnam Veterans March 26

PORT ST. LUCIE – St. Lucie County’s Veteran Services Division and the Vietnam Veterans of America, Michael F. Bradley Chapter 566 will hold a special ceremony for area Vietnam Veterans on Saturday, March 26 at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 2100 SE Veterans Memorial Parkway in Port St. Lucie.

All Veterans from the Vietnam era, along with their family members, are encouraged to attend this special event to acknowledge and commemorate your service to our country. More than 58,000 United States servicemen died during the Vietnam War (1959 – 1975).

“Unlike the hero status given to the soldiers who returned home from World War II, the young men that served in Vietnam weren’t always given the respect that they deserved,” said St. Lucie County Commissioner Linda Bartz. “It’s long overdue that we acknowledge and celebrate the service that these men and their families gave to their country.”

This event is free and open to the public. For more information contact St. Lucie County’s Veteran Services Division at 772-337-5670.
