St. Lucie County Pools Begin Swim Lesson Registration 

 

  1. LUCIE COUNTY – Florida leads the country in drowning deaths of children ages 1-4 years. Annually in Florida, enough children to fill three to four preschool classrooms drown before their fifth birthday, according to the Florida Department of Health. St. Lucie County’s Parks and Recreation Department wants to change those statistics by encouraging everyone to sign up for swim lessons.

Online registration for swim lessons begin Monday, March 19 at www.stlucieco.gov/aquatics.

Phone calls to make appointments for registration will being Monday, March 5. The time between 9 a.m. and noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Call 772-871-2183. In-person registration will begin at the Ravenswood Pool starting Tuesday, March 20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. Appointments are required.

To register for swim lessons at the Lincoln Park or Lakewood Park Pool locations, please visit the pools during regular hours of operation, beginning on May 26. The cost for swim lessons is $65 per participant, per session. Each session consists of six 45-minute lessons over a two-week period except for Saturday lessons, which will be six consecutive Saturdays. Scholarships are available on a first-come, first served basis.

St. Lucie County’s Parks and Recreation staff operates three pools: Lincoln Park Pool, 1311 Avenue M, Fort Pierce; the Lakewood Park Pool, 5990 Emerson Ave., Fort Pierce and the Ravenswood Pool, 400 SW Ravenswood Lane, Port St. Lucie.
