St. Lucie County Libraries Provide Free Technology Training in December 

  1. LUCIE COUNTY – Technology is always changing, which is why the St. Lucie County Library staff offers free technology training sessions at four different branches throughout December. In addition to the scheduled classes, all six branch libraries offer one-on-one technology help by appointment.

Scheduled classes for December include:

  • Friday, Dec. 3 at 9 a.m. – Email Basics at the Lakewood Park Branch Library, 7605 Santa Barbara Drive, Fort Pierce. Learn about Gmail and Yahoo! Mail. You will learn how to create an account, compose/send emails and how to attach a document.

 

  • Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2:30 p.m. – Android Phone Basics at the Morningside Branch Library, 2410 SE Morningside Blvd., Port St. Lucie. Learn about the basic features and functions of your Android phone.

  • Saturday, Dec. 4 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. – Virtual Reality at the Lewis Branch Library, 2950 SW Rosser Blvd., Port St. Lucie. Immerse yourself into a 3-D world. All ages welcome, but children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

 

  • Tuesday, Dec. 7 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.  – Apple Basic at the Kilmer Branch Library, 101 Melody Lane, Fort Pierce. We’ll explore the various features and functions of your Apple device.

 

  • Thursday, Dec. 9 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. – Digital Holiday Card Creation at the Kilmer Branch Library, 101 Melody Lane, Fort Pierce. Create a digital holiday card using free software in this hands-on workshop. Bring a photo on a photo on a portable flash drive or one to scan. Space is limited to the first 10 participants.

 

  • Saturday, Dec. 11 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. – Personalized Photo Holiday Cards at the Morningside Branch Library, 2410 SE Morningside Blvd., Port St. Lucie. Make your own personalized holiday cards to share with family and friends. Bring a photo on a portable flash drive or one to scan.

  • Tuesday, Dec. 14 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. – Android Devices at the Kilmer Branch Library, 101 Melody Lane, Fort Pierce. We’ll explore the various features and functions of your Android device.

 

  • Friday, Dec. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Tech Talk at the Lewis Branch Library, 2950 SW Rosser Blvd., Port St. Lucie.  Staff will provide tips and tricks with your smart phones.
  • Saturday, Dec. 18 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. – iPhone Basics at 2410 SE Morningside Blvd., Port St. Lucie. Join us as we dive into the functions of an iPhone. We’ll explore basic settings, texting and how to make and receive calls.

For residents who would like more individual assistance, all six branch libraries offer one-on-one technology help for adults by appointment.  Adults can contact their local branch library to schedule a session. Please remember to bring all your passwords, St. Lucie County Library card and make sure all your devices are fully charged.

A reminder that all St. Lucie County Libraries have expanded Wi-Fi available from the parking lot 24 hours a day; seven days a week.
