St. Lucie County Hosts Pickleball Tournament to Raise Funds for United Way Aug. 11-13
FORT PIERCE – The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners will host a Pickleball Tournament Thursday, Aug. 11 through Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Havert L. Fenn Center to raise money for the United Way of St. Lucie County. This tournament was originally scheduled for April.
This three-day, indoor pickleball tournament will feature multiple divisions by ages and gender, with 100% of the proceeds going toward the United Way of St. Lucie County. Registration is $50 and includes participation in one round-robin event and a commemorative t-shirt. There is a $20 fee for additional divisions for players that want to play in more than one event. The schedule for the tournament will be: women’s and men’s doubles (over 50) on Thursday, Aug. 11, mixed doubles (all ages) on Friday, Aug. 12 and women’s and men’s doubles (under 50) on Saturday, Aug. 13.
There will be a limit of eight teams per age and skill bracket in each category. Categories include: women’s and men’s doubles (under 50); mixed doubles (all ages) and women’s and men’s doubles (over 50). Age divisions include: 19-35, 36-50; 51-59, 60-69, 70+ (age by Dec. 31, 2022). Skill Levels: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5+ (groups will be combined if there are not enough teams in a particular skill/age bracket). All matches will be round-robins with one game to 15 points, win by 2 and capped at 21 points. Medals will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers.

Managed by the St. Lucie County Parks & Recreation Department, the Havert L. Fenn Center is located at 2000 Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce. The Fenn Center offers open recreation pickleball games on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. Admission is $4 per person.
