St. Lucie County, Fort Pierce Officials to Host Dignitaries from the Bahamas Dec. 15

The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners and City of Fort Pierce will host several dignitaries from the Bahamas on Thursday, Dec. 15, starting at 2 p.m. to discuss future opportunities to promote travel and economic development.
County and city commissioners, along with staff from both local governments, are scheduled to meet with the Minister of Transportation and Aviation Glenys Hanna-Martin, Acting Port Controller Capt. Cyril Roker and Senior Director of the Office of the Ministry of Tourism Greg Rolle to discuss ways in which the island nation can partner with St. Lucie County and Fort Pierce. Officials will tour the Treasure Coast International Airport and Business as well as the Port of Fort Pierce.
The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15 at the St. Lucie County Administration Complex, 2300 Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce, followed by a tour of the airport and port.
Other local elected officials schedule to attending include: Congressman-elect Brian Mast; State Senate President Senator Joe Negron; State Representative Gayle Harrell; State Representative Larry Lee, Jr.; Port St Lucie Mayor Greg Oravec and Bahamas Government Liaison Calvin Turnquest.
