St. Lucie County Aquarium & Regional History Center Announce Holiday Schedule

SOUTH HUTCHINSON ISLAND – Forget shopping on Black Friday, instead book a reservation at the St. Lucie County Aquarium featuring the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit and/or the Regional History Center, and enjoy some quality time with your family. And, if you really want to shop – you can spend some time in the gift shop at either location.

The St. Lucie County Aquarium and Regional History Center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26 for Thanksgiving, but will open on Friday, Nov. 27. Additionally, the facilities will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24, Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1.

Located 420 Seaway Drive, both the Aquarium and Regional History Center offer individual and joint tickets. Both facilities require advanced registration and ask that all guests follow COVID-19 guidelines including wearing facial coverings.

The St. Lucie County Aquarium is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. From January through March, the Aquarium is open on Mondays. Admission is $3.25 or $5.25 for a joint admission ticket to both the Aquarium and Regional History Center. For admission to the St. Lucie County Aquarium: Call 772-462-3474 or visit  www.stlucieco.gov/aquarium in advance and have one hour to visit the more than 8,000 gallons of marine life. Admission will be spread out in 20-minute increments and visitors will be required to wear a mask. The max amount of people per group is five. The touch tank is still currently a look-only tank.  This 5,000-square-foot facility features several aquatic displays that accurately reflect the habitats and sea life found in the Indian River Lagoon and Atlantic Ocean.

The Regional History Center houses unique artifacts and exhibits that showcase St. Lucie County’s 100-plus year history. The center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Admission is $3. Children under 4 are free. For tickets call the volunteers at 772-462-1795 or you can purchase a joint ticket online through the Aquarium webpage.
