SHERIFF MASCARA REQUESTS PUBLIC’S HELP IN IDENTIFYING BODY FOUND ON SNEED ROAD

St. Lucie County,  Fl (treasurecoast.com). -Sheriff Ken J. Mascara is asking for the public’s help in trying to identify a body found alongside Sneed Road in western St. Lucie County.
On November 17, 2020, deputies and detectives were called to the 4800 block of Sneed Road, approximately 10 miles west of the Florida Turnpike entrance on State Road 70 (Okeechobee Road).
“When our deputies arrived, they found a body lying on the side of the road,” said Chief Deputy Brian W. Hester. “The body was already in a severe state of decomposition.”

Since that day, detectives have been exploring all options and leads to try and identify the decedent and notify next of kin.

“Our agency’s first priority in any death investigation is to identify the deceased and then locate the next of kin to make a proper and respectful notification,” Hester said.
An autopsy was performed on the decedent, resulting in a description that the individual was a white female between the ages of 40 and 60 years old, approximately 5’5” to 5’7” with a thin build, weighing between 80 to 100 pounds. The decedent had partially grey and brown hair.

“During the autopsy, the Medical Examiner discovered several surgical implants,” Hester said. “Our detectives used this information to try and trace back any identifiable and useable serial numbers or lot numbers to determine the woman’s identity. Unfortunately, all attempts to do so proved unsuccessful.”
Additional details that might be helpful to the public in trying to identify this woman include several tattoos.

“The woman had a small flower on her right forearm, a flower on the top of her right shoulder and a Chinese symbol on her left upper arm,” Hester said. “Anyone who might recognize this description is asked to call our detectives so we can identify any family and allow them to pay their proper respects.”
