Severe weather hit throughout the Treasure Coast yesterday morning, causing damage to local communities.

The National Weather Services confirmed Sunday afternoon that an EF1 tornado hit the Hobe Sound area just east of US1.

Also in Hobe Sound, Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported a tree had fallen on a home in the Mark Landing area.

Wind gusts of up to 50 MPH were reported throughout the area.

A Publix semi-tractor crashed on I95 north of Bridge Road, possibly knocked over due to the heavy winds.

The severe weather started around 7 A.M. Sunday morning and lasted for about an hour. There were no reported injuries.
