SRHS Football player accused of having sex with underage girl during game.

A high school football player from Sebastian River High School is accused of having sex with a girl in a team room during a football game.

According to the report from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Jamal Riggins Jr., was ejected from a game on the week before Thanksgiving.

Investigators said Riggins had a friend text the 14-year old girl to meet him. The two then walked to the team room at the stadium where they had sex. The girl told investigators it was “consensual.”

The Sheriff’s Office found out about the incident after getting a tip from the girl’s psychiatrist.

The girl’s family told investigators they were aware of the situation and had put her in counseling.

Detectives say Riggins told the girl via Snapchat not to say anything if school leaders questioned her. Riggins is being held without bond on a charge of lewd and lascivious battery on a person 12 years of age or older but less than 16 years of age.
