Sea Fest for Kids

Jupiter, FL: The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is excited to launch its new maritime festival Sea Fest For Kids, Saturday February 27, 2016, from 11:00-5:00 pm. With sea-inspired fun, education, vendors, land-based activities, water safety demonstrations and a bounty of adventures, Sea Fest For Kids celebrates our unique coastal heritage with nautical style.

Visit the Lighthouse and Museum, meet lively characters from Jupiter’s past, including pioneers at the Tindall Pioneer Homestead, a real pirate or two on their pirate ship and Living History folks telling civil war tales. Join in activities geared for the very young, honoring Native Americans under our Seminole Chickee, listen to children’s book authors as they read their works aloud, dance to lively maritime music and take a hike through the Outstanding Natural Area. Captain Crossbones and his crew will be teaching young Bucs about the pirate life and how to make a “really great name for themselves”…arghhhh.  Sea Fest kids can perfect craftiness in arts activities, and enjoy an old-fashioned Treasure Hunt gleaned from a real map filled with clues or go with a new high-tech twist on treasure hunting. Mermaid and pirate costumes are welcome!

Participants for the inaugural event include the Jupiter Community High School Drama students, River Center, AustinBlu Foundation, Just Dance Inc, Blueline Surf and Paddle, Bureau of Land Management, Lighthouse ArtCenter, Palm Beach County Ocean Rescue, Macaroni Kid, Beach Guardians Atlantic Coast, Sea to Shore Alliance, the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast, Author Harvey Oyer III, Professor Clark the Science Shark and Bricks4Kidz.
