SBA offering low-interest loans to businesses affected by toxic algae bloom

Stuart, Fl- The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest loans to Florida small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses and private nonprofit organizations affected by toxic algae blooms. The loans became available after the SBA received a letter from Gov. Rick Scott last month requesting a disaster declaration. The declaration covers several counties including St Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, and Okeechobee. The Disaster Loan Outreach Center opens Friday at 1895 SE Flying Fortress Way in Stuart. The hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm, and Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
