Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ebony Tommie for intentionally trying to run law enforcement and other drivers off the road. This occurred Sunday afternoon.

Tommie was driving south on 25th Street near Orange Avenue around 11:30. She intentionally tried to run a deputy off the road. She again ran several other vehicles off the road near 25th Street and Virginia Avenue and 25th Street and Edwards Road. Then she crashed into one car and then into a tree on Okeechobee Road.

Once stopped, Tommie became belligerent and uncooperative with deputies. Family members also shared with deputies that Tommie had made prior statements to harm herself and that she had a “bomb” at her home.

The Sheriff’s Office Bomb Team responded to her home and confirmed no such device existed.

Tommie was charged with:

  • aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill
  • fleeing and eluding police

possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia

  • She was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail and held without bond.

Please call the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office at 772-462-3297 if you observed these incidents or were forced off the road by Ebony Tommie.
