Road Rage dispute leads to arrest of 29-year-old man in Port St. Lucie

Port St. Lucie, Fl- Police investigated a road rage incident that occurred at the 1500 block of Urbino Avenue, Port St. Lucie, FL. The victim encountered the suspect while traveling down a residential neighborhood.  The male suspect got into his car, gave chase and struck the victim’s car.

On June 6, 2019 at around 10:34 pm, police were flagged down by the victim who was at the Valero Gas Station (SW Savona Blvd / SW Gatlin Blvd). Police learned the victim was on his way to a local hospital. He was  traveling through the 1500 Block of SW Urbino Avenue. Words were exchanged between the two men.  The suspect got into his car and followed the victim.

The suspect aggressively used his vehicle to tailgate and drive alongside the victim’s vehicle in attempts to get the victim’s attention. Both vehicles reached the intersection of SW Savona Blvd/ SW Dalton Avenue, just as the victim was making a turn onto SW Dalton Avenue, his vehicle was impacted by the suspect’s vehicle causing extensive damage to the rear bumper and front quarter panel.

No injuries were reported. The suspect sped off and returned to a Port St. Lucie address (1500 block of Urbino Avenue) where he was located and arrested on the following charges: Aggravated Battery w/ Deadly Weapon and Criminal Mischief ($1000. or more).  The suspect was identified as Mason Trent Gregory, DOB 4/26/1990 (17 Wimbledon Court, Heath, Texas).

Police urge citizens if they are confronted with a road rage situation; to call police immediately, try to keep calm, don’t react to someone else’s actions and definitely do not get caught up in using your vehicle in response to the rage.
