Register for St. Lucie Water Champions Virtual Course “Saving Our Watershed”

PORT ST. LUCIE – The Oxbow Eco-Center is hosting a St. Lucie Water Champions virtual course on Thursday Dec. 2, 9, and 16 from 3 to 5 p.m. for anyone interested in learning more about local water quality issues.

Participants will engage in presentations and activities related to the history and ecology of our wetlands and waterways. They’ll also learn how to improve the health of these systems and what they can do to help create a brighter future for our water.  The Water Champions Virtual course is free and recommended for residents and visitors ages 13 and older.  This course is designed so participants can pick and choose whether they attend all three virtual sessions or just the sessions that work for their schedule.  On Saturday, Dec. 18, anyone who has attended one or more the virtual sessions will be invited to a special in-person field trip to explore our local waterways.  Field trip details will be shared with registered participants.

Join us to learn how you can become a “Water Champion” and register by calling the Oxbow Eco-Center staff at 772-785-5833 or emailing oxbow@stlucieco.org.

The Oxbow is a St. Lucie County Environmental Learning Center encompassing 225 acres along the St. Lucie River, located at 5400 NE St. James Drive in Port St. Lucie. To learn more about Oxbow Eco-Center programming, events, and volunteer opportunities, visit www.oxboweco.com.
