Red Tide confirmed on Atlantic Coast

Palm Beach County, Fl- Red tide has been confirmed on Florida’s Atlantic coast. State fish and wildlife officials say testing shows the presence off Palm Beach County. Officials closed beaches in Palm Beach and Martin counties over the weekend after beachgoers reported sneezing, coughing, and burning eyes. 

They are still waiting on test results to know for certain if the red tide is in Martin County. But officials say beaches are expected to be open today, however those conditions could change. Call the County Beach Hotline at 772-320-3112 for the current conditions.

If closed for swimming there will be double red flags at the guarded beach.

Lakeworth Beach is closed.

10/2/2018 10/2 It was just reported that Bathtub Beach has tested positive for red tide.
