PSLPD warns to remove valuables from cars

WARNING.. REMOVE VALUABLES FROM CARS.. Port St. Lucie Police investigating parking lot smash and grab car burglaries.

Port St Lucie, Fl- Port St. Lucie Police is investigating 7 reported smash and grab car burglaries that occurred in public parking lots throughout the City.  The incidents occurred between the dates of April 24, 2018 – May 8, 2018.  All 7 incidents occurred in public parking lots as the suspect smashed vehicle windows to gain entry into the cars.

The following is the dates, times, and locations where burglaries have been reported:

  • 10501 S US #1 (Applebee’s), 4/24/18 between 4pm- 7:30pm, smashed window purse stolen.
  • 1367 NW St. Lucie West Blvd (LA Fitness), 4/30/18 between 7pm-9:13pm Two cars smashed windows headphone, GPS, Radio, and book stolen.
  • 1367 NW St. Lucie West Blvd (LA Fitness), 5/8/18 between 9:35am-11:32am, smashed window purse and IPhone stolen
  • 250 NW Peacock Blvd (Gold’s Gym), 5/8/18 between 6pm-7pm, Two cars smashed windows purses and headphones stolen.
  • 700 SW Carmelite Street (Swan Park), 5/8/19 between 6pm-8:50pm, smashed window two purses stolen.

Surveillance cameras from Gold’s Gym captured the image of the suspect vehicle with two occupants inside.  The vehicle is described as a Black Nissan Juke with a black male driver and black male passenger.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department is reminding citizens to remove all valuables from their cars both at home and when they are parking in public parking lots.
