PSLPD: Two Arrested for Purse Snatching after Witness Photographs Suspect Vehicle Fleeing from Scene!

Port St.Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- The Port St. Lucie Police have reported that two people were arrested  for  purse  snatching after a witness took  photographs  of the suspects  fleeing from the scene.

This is what  happened:
It is because of this picture and the quick thinking of one of our residents that allowed Officers to quickly identify and arrest the two suspects responsible for snatching a woman’s purse in the Eastport Publix parking lot on Friday evening.
The victim was putting grocery bags in her car when the suspects snatched her purse from the shopping cart and began to flee the area in their vehicle as the victim screamed for help. This got the attention of an alert citizen who was able to photograph the suspect’s vehicle and license plate before they could get away.
The suspects then traveled to Ft. Pierce and continued their crime spree where the victim’s stolen credit cards were fraudulently used at gas stations and a Publix. With the license plate information in hand, it didn’t take long though for Officers to identify and track down the suspects.
Officers apprehend a juvenile female in Port St. Lucie and charged her with robbery by sudden snatching. A juvenile male was apprehended in Stuart with the assistance of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and charged with robbery by sudden snatching and 6 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. Both suspects were arrested taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
This is just one example of the valued partnership between PSLPD and the residents of our community. Great job to the alert witness and all involved in the quick apprehension of these suspects!
