PSLPD recovers stolen vehicle and shuts down a THC edible manufacturing operation

Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- On February 17, 2021, Port St Lucie Police Officers responded to the 2700 Blk of SW Fondura Rd in reference to a stolen vehicle out of Palm Beach County, being tracked by Onstar, to this location.  Officers located a 2020 black Chevrolet Tahoe parked in front of a business.  The name of the business was “Graffix”.  Officers checked the VIN on the Tahoe, but no records were found.  The vehicle was found to have an altered VIN number attached to it.  While on the phone with Onstar, representatives were able to remotely honk the vehicle’s horn and flash the lights.

When Officers knocked on the door, a heavy set Hispanic or Black male with tattoos answered the door.  The male agreed to open the roll-up garage door of the business.  The male opened the door partially and was now accompanied by a white male.  The Officer immediately noticed an overpowering odor of marijuana coming from the bay, which was now open.  The males stated the business is for “vinyl work, t shirts, stickers, and such.”  Police Officers concluded their conversation and the bay door was lowered.

Port St Lucie Detectives arrived on scene and began to process the Tahoe, which was reported stolen out of Palm Beach County.  Detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for the business and found a THC edible manufacturing operation.  Detectives located printing equipment, packaging equipment, scales, ledgers, and several pounds of THC edibles as well as approximately 4 pounds of flower marijuana.  No arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing.

A lot of this illegal product looked like candy, and in the hands of young children, could have unintended consequences.

If you suspect illegal narcotics in your neighborhood, we urge you to contact 911, or through Crime Stoppers 1-800-273-8477.
