PSLPD Officers Jump Into Lake and Save Suicidal Woman

Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com- Port St. Lucie Police Officers jump Into a lake and save a suicidal woman.
This is what they said:
At 5:30pm, Officers responded to Veterans Memorial Pkwy in reference to a woman laying in the roadway. As Officers arrived on scene, the woman ran from them and jumped into a nearby lake.
Officers immediately began talking with the woman but she refused to return to shore and continued to swim further away. Marine Officers Peto and Barrera responded to the scene with a skiff boat. Officer Holly boarded the boat and continued speaking with the suicidal woman. As Officer Holly kept the woman distracted, Officer Iller began swimming out to her. Officer Holly then jumped into the lake as Officer Iler reached her and the Officers were able to safely bring the woman to shore.
The 47-year-old woman was taken into protective custody and transported by SLCFD to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Great job and thank you to all Officers involved for saving this woman’s life!
