PSLPD investigating Dixie Cream Donut shop burglary
Port St Lucie, Fl- The Port St Lucie Police are investigating a PSLPD investigating a burglary that took place at the Dixie Cream Donut shop.
On April 8, 2018 at around 11:37 pm, a Port St. Lucie Police officer on patrol noticed a downed light pole lying in the grass between the sidewalk and the bushes. The officer checked the surrounding businesses to see if there were any surveillance cameras. He found the glass front doors to the Dixie Cream Donut shop had been shattered.
Police cleared the business but was unable to locate a suspect. Officers reviewed the surveillance video from inside the Dixie Cream Donut shop.
The video showed that on April 8, 2018 at 9:34 pm, an unknown man broke the front glass door of the business with what looked to be a hammer. The suspect entered the business and went behind the counter where the cash register is located. The suspect put a change box on top of the register then went to the rear of the business. It appears the suspect grabs a bag from the back then returns to the cash register.
The suspect is seen taking the bag, money box, and carries the cash register to the front door. As the suspect attempts to leave the business he hits his head on the door and drops the cash register. The suspect then flees the Donut shop with the bag and money box but leaves the cash register behind.
The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a light colored hat, dark long sleeve shirt, dark pants, wearing eye glasses, face mask, carrying a white satchel bag, and had on latex gloves.
