PSLPD (and everyone else!) remind you to celebrate responsibly

Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- As 2019 comes to a close and we get ready to ring in the new year and the new decade, make sure to stay safe while having a good time.

Port St Lucie police are reminding you to celebrate responsibly and plan ahead for a safe ride to and from your destination.

If you decide to welcome 2020 with a few drinks, just make sure to not get behind the wheel afterwards. PSL police say if you do, there’s a good chance you’ll be spending New Years with them, rather than with your family and friends.

And if you see a drunk driver, call 911 to report them. Plan ahead, and have a designated driver, or plan on using ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft. Some areas even have worked out agreements with ride sharing services to make it cheaper to use them tonight.

For example, in the Jupiter area you can use the code JUPNYE to have a $15 voucher added to your Uber app. The vouchers are available from 7pm to 2am, and a limited number are available. If all else fails then Triple A’s Tow 2 Go program will be there to get both you and your car home safely. Triple-A’s Holly Greene says you don’t have to be a member to use it.

The program is free to use. Simply call 855-2-TOW-2-GO.
