Port St. Lucie Police investigating three-car involved fatality at the intersection of SE Port St. Lucie Blvd and SE Tunis Avenue

Port St. Lucie, Fl -Police arrested the driver of the 2014 Dodge Ram Pick-up. Michiah Lee Jackson (DOB 1/11/1994, 950 Clover Circle, Springville Alabama). Michiah Jackson was charged with DUI Manslaughter. He was transported to the St. Lucie County Jail. The deceased Anthony Michael Lara, DOB 1/11/1994 was a Port St. Lucie resident.

On December 15, 2019 at around 2:24 am, Port St. Lucie Police went to the intersection of SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard and SE Tunis Avenue to investigate a fatal crash involving three vehicles.

Preliminary investigation revealed the driver (sixty-one-year-old male) of a 2014 Kia Sol and the driver (twenty-five-year-old) of 2014 Dodge Ram Pickup were both travelling southbound on Port St. Lucie Boulevard. The driver of the Kia Sol was stopped for the red light at SE Tunis Avenue. The driver (twenty-five-year-old male) of the Dodge Ram Pick-up did not slow/stop and rear-ended the Kia Sol. The impact from the Dodge Ram Pick-up pushed the Kia Sol across the intersection where a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta driver (eighteen-year-old) was stopped northbound on Port St. Lucie Boulevard for the red light. The driver of the Kia Sol struck the Volkswagen’s driver side. All vehicles were disabled from the crash. The deceased (thirty-two-year-old male) was a passenger inside of the Kia Sol.

St. Lucie County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the sixty-one-year-old driver with non-life-threatening injuries. The thirty-two-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.  The twenty-five-year-old male was transported to a nearby hospital and was cleared.  He was also transported to the police station for questioning. No other injuries reported. Traffic Homicide Investigators are actively investigating the traffic crash.
