PSL Police are investigating a suspicious death; involving shooting activity 

Port St. Lucie, FL (treasurecoast.com)- PSL Police are investigating a suspicious death involving shooting activity.

On May 31, 2020 at around 9:50 pm, Police responded to the 2200 block of SW Alminar Street, PSL for reports of a domestic disturbance. The victim (thirty-eight-year-old female) sustained a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with significant injuries.  She was later pronounced dead.  The male suspect (Sylvana Maria Mayorga) and another adult female subject present at the time of the incident were transported to the Police Department Headquarters for interviews.

Police learned a total of three adults were inside of the residence at the time of the incident. When the gunshot was heard, a female left the residence and contacted a neighbor, requesting help for the victim. Upon Police arrival at the scene, the suspect Sylvana Maria Mayorga obstructed police from providing the victim medical attention. After the interview with Sylvana Maria Mayorga; he was arrested and charged with Resisting Officer without Violence.

Police are actively investigating the incident with the assistance of The State Attorney’s Office and The St. Lucie County Medical Examiner & Coroner’s Office.
