PSL Police investigating a drug-deal-turned to armed robbery shooting involving a 17-year-old juvenile

 

On February 28, 2020, at 7:38 pm Police received a call from Martin Memorial Hospital. This was for reports of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to a seventeen-year-old juvenile. While conducting their investigation, Police learned the seventeen-year-old male victim used a friend’s phone to set up a drug deal via Snap Chat. Their meet up location for the drug transaction was at the Family Dollar located at 577 NW Prima Vista Boulevard, PSL. A verbal altercation ensued between the victim and the suspect overpayment and the suspect shot the victim in the right forearm and fled the scene in a gray and black unknown make/model vehicle.

Further investigation revealed the victim had been dropped off at the hospital by friends. Initially, the victim told police the shooting occurred at ‘Swan Park’ located 700 SW Carmelite Street, PSL. Police conducted a thorough search of the Park and determine no physical evidence was found at the Park that would support the crime occurred in the location the victim provided.

*This is ongoing investigation and police are still confirming facts as to what actually happened.
