On April 21, 2016 Port St. Lucie Police arrested Daniel O Rodriguez  for firing a weapon from vehicle, driving under the influence, using a firearm under the influence, possession of controlled substance without prescription, and possession of Marijuana under 20 grams.

On April 21, 2016 around 1:50 am, Port St. Lucie police officers heard gunshots ring out from the 300 block of SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard, which is primarily a business district.  Officer Lovechio witnessed a white car flee the scene of the shooting headed east of SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard.  As Officer Lovechio followed the white car, another police officer spoke to a witness who was in the parking lot of the Circle K, located in the 300 block of SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard.   The witness said that he saw gun shots coming from a white BMW near the intersection of SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard and SE Airoso Boulevard.  The BMW then headed east on Port St. Lucie Boulevard.

Police stopped a white BMW at the intersection of SE Shipping Road and SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard.  The witness was taken to the scene of the traffic stop where he identified the car as the vehicle the shots came from.  The witness also identified the passenger as being in the car at the time of the shooting.  Police spoke to the passenger of the BMW and he confirmed that the driver, Rodriguez, had shot his gun out of the sunroof of the car as they drove on Port St. Lucie Boulevard.

Further investigation revealed that Rodriguez was kicked out of the Hookah Moon Lounge located in Lakeside Center.  Rodriguez and his male passenger left the lounge in the White BMW.  As they drove on Port St. Lucie Boulevard, Rodriguez fired several rounds from the car.  Rodriguez told police that he shot his gun as a show or force.

During the investigation police located spent shell casings in the BMW and a Black Walther Pk380 handgun from underneath the front passenger’s seat of the BMW.  Police also located an Amoxicillin pill in the car and recovered marijuana under 20 grams from Rodriguez’s front pants pocket.

Rodriguez was arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail for booking.
