PSL man punched girlfriend over last cookie

Port St. Lucie, Fla (treasurecoast.com)- A 31-year-old Port St Lucie man is facing domestic battery charges for reportedly assaulting his girlfriend over cookies. Richard Anthony Hessic was upset that someone ate the last chocolate chip cookie. His girlfriend told police she didn’t want to argue about something so petty. She told him she’d buy more cookies. She went to go try and take a shower, but police say Hessic followed her. He felt like she was blowing him off, so he ripped down the shower curtain and punched her in the face. He was going to leave the home until he was met by police as he was pulling out of the driveway. Hessic was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail without incident.
