PSL man arrested for Hutchinson Island wedding gift theft

Stuart, Fl- An arrest has been made in the theft of a couples wedding gifts.

A couple having a wedding at the Hutchinson Island Marriott back in February found themselves missing a box full of cards that guests had given them as presents. Now, an arrest has finally been made. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says that a hotel employee , Kenneth Stevens, took the cards and $1,400 worth of gifts. A friend of the bride and groom noticed that the box of cards and gifts was missing, and the next day several of those cards were spent at local stores. Deputies followed the gift card receipt trail, which reportedly led them to Stevens. According to the report, Stevens was in charge of cleaning the bathrooms the night of the wedding and denied taking the cards. Stevens, who lives in Port St. Lucie, was arrested in St. Lucie County on a warrant for grand theft on April 3rd. He was released on $7,500 bond.
