Del Toro New President Of Boys & Girls Clubs Of St. Lucie County Board – Port. St. Lucie.

Since joining the Board in 2014, Del Toro has served the local non-profit as Co-Chair for the Annual Steak & Stake fundraiser, Vice President .

Del Toro has worked in various assignments throughout his career including Patrol, Special Investigations, Internal Affairs and as the Commander of the Professional Standards Division and S.W.A.T. Team. He earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University. And he graduated from the Southern Police Institute’s Administrative Officer’s Course.

As Assistant Chief of Police, Del Toro commands the Neighborhood Policing Bureau, which is primarily responsible for providing uniformed police response to calls for service from citizens. Assistant Chief Del Toro is also an adjunct faculty member at Indian River State College, and a member of the several police associations.

The Neighborhood Policing Bureau is staffed by 234 sworn and civilian staff members.

In 2017 Governor Rick Scott appointed Del Toro to the Children’s Services Council of Saint Lucie County. He also serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Treasure Coast Hope for the Homeless Foundation. Deltot is a member of the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club, and is a Lions Club Melvin Jones Fellowship Award recipient.
