Port St. Lucie solid waste update as of Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – FCC Environmental Services was able to complete 80% of the automated garbage routes for Tuesday, 80% of all yard waste routes and 50% of recycling routes. It will finish up Tuesday services this morning and some crews already have started Wednesday service.
Advance crews continue to work ahead of the automated trucks to collect the backlog of trash left behind by Waste Pro.

Here are a few tips we’d like to share again:

  • It is critical that residents place all carts 3 feet from each other and 3 feet from other obstructions such as mailboxes or other debris piles. This is causing major delays with collection. Consider placing the trash cart and the recycling cart on opposite sides of the driveway.
  • Residents do not need to transfer trash from one cart to another. If you have trash that has not yet been picked up, please leave it in the can it’s in. It will be picked up by advance crews or by FCC on your new designated day.
  •  If all of your cans, new and old, yard waste and recycling has been collected, do not put out more trash until your next collection day. From now on, all trash should go into your City-issued cart. No more trash should be put on the ground, unless it’s yard or bulk waste, on your designated day.

Please be patient as FCC transitions and the drivers learn their new routes.
