Port St. Lucie Police investigating drowning death of a 4 year old girl.

Port St. Lucie, Fl- On August 9, 2018 at around 12:40 pm, Port St. Lucie Police along with St. Lucie County Fire/Rescue went to the 2600 block of SW Harem Circle for reports of a drowning.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the mother of a 4 year old girl left the home to run an errand, leaving a 16 year old sister in charge of the girl.  The 16 year old sister was in the house doing chores then went to check on the 4 year old.  The 16 year found the 4 year old face down in the master bathroom bathtub.  The sibling immediately called 9-1-1 and administered CPR while rescue and police responded.

St. Lucie County Fire/Rescue arrived on scene.  The 4 year old girl was transported by ground to Tradition Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Port St. Lucie Police Detectives are actively investigating this drowning death.

Additional information: inside the home during the incident was the 4 year old girl (victim), 16 year old female (sibling), 14 year old male (sibling), 9 year old male (sibling), and 7 year old male (sibling).
