During the investigation, Police were informed a household member was awaken by an unknown person “pounding” on the front door; alerting them their boat (on the side of their home) was on fire.

Everyone inside of the home had evacuated prior to Police arriving on scene.  As Police canvassed the area, they observed surveillance video cameras at a neighboring home. The homeowner explained as the family prepared for Hurricane Dorian, an argument ensued with an unknown male over speeding in the neighborhood. The homeowner mentioned to police that the unknown male’s vehicle matches the vehicle seen on the footage. The boat, engine and corner of the residence sustained extensive damage. No injuries reported. No other homes affected.
