Port St. Lucie Police detective arrested after domestic dispute
Port St Lucie, Fl-On January 21, 2019, Port St. Lucie Police arrested 43 year old Paul Knowles for misdemeanor battery after he was involved in an altercation with his wife.
On January 21, 2019 at around 2:20 am, Port St. Lucie Police went to the home of (off-duty detective) Paul Knowles for reports of a domestic disturbance. Once on scene officers learned that Knowles and his wife had been engaged in a verbal altercation that turned physical. Police learned that during the physical part of the altercation, Knowles slapped his wife several times before punching her in the face.
Mrs. Knowles sustained a laceration to her lip; however, she refused rescue at the scene.
Paul Knowles was taken into custody and transported to the St. Lucie County Jail where he was later released on $1,500.00 bond. Detective Knowles has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
