Port St Lucie Police Announce Operation “Goodbye DUI” before Holiday Season
Port St Lucie , Fl (treasurecoast.com)The Port St Lucie Police Department is committed to providing safe roadways both day and night. The City of Port St Lucie has seen an increase in serious traffic crashes during this current 2020 year. Along with this increase, actual Traffic Homicide Investigations have more than doubled so far this year. Currently, into the month of October 2020, there have been a total of 15 THI investigations that have resulted in the death or serious bodily injury of those involved. Three of these crashes were alcohol related with two of the three resulting in 4 fatalities, along with 1 serious bodily injury.
Beginning Thanksgiving weekend, the Port St Lucie Police Traffic Enforcement Unit will begin Operation “Goodbye DUI”. The goal is to create a safe environment for citizens and visitors with presence, enforcement, and educational efforts.
