Port St. Lucie man wanted for Doggy Door burglary.
Port St. Lucie Police has secured warrants for Curtis Brown for the charges of burglary of a structure, grand theft, fraud, and dealing in stolen property after he entered the victim’s home through the doggy door of the victim’s home.
The investigation began on April 19, 2017, after the home owner of 262 NW Bayshore Boulevard noticed that her home security cameras had been tampered with. The victim told police that when she returned home from being out she checked her security cameras. During the inspection she noticed that the security cameras had been moved and were now pointed toward the ceiling. The victim checked the activity of the security camera and noticed that someone had entered her house through the doggy door, tampered with the camera by moving them to point at the ceiling, then took property from the house.
Through the course of the investigation police spoke to a neighbor of the victim who identified Brown as the man who entered the home through the doggy door. The neighbor said that he personally knows Brown because he had hired him to do odd jobs around his house. Police continued the investigation and uncovered that Brown had pawned items at a nearby pawn shop. Detectives took photos of the items pawned by Brown, which were identified by the victim as being her property.
Port St. Lucie Police then secured warrants for Brown on the charges of listed above.
