Vero Beach, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- A  Port St. Lucie man was  shot down at Irish American Club in Vero.

The Vero Beach Police are looking for people involved in the shooting death of a 27-year-old Port St. Lucie man. He was killed in a “barrage of shots.”

Vero Beach Police Chief David Currey said  12 shots were fired with at least four hitting  Patrick Casimir.

The Chief said the Vero Police went to the club following 911 calls around  1:30 a.m. and found Casimir lying on the sidewalk near the main entrance of the club.

He said up to 150 people were possibly attending a private event  which was winding down.

“There may have been a disturbance of some sort in the alleyway,” Currey said.

Currey said more than one gun was used in the shooting based on the shell casings recovered, and Casimir was unarmed, based on evidence gathered by detectives, so far.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, he said.
