Port St Lucie cleaning lady arrested
Port St. Lucie, Fl- On August 19, 2019, Police arrested Christine Baptiste. She was charged with 6 counts of Dealing in Stolen Property, 6 counts of Giving False Information to a Pawn Broker, 2 counts of Grand Theft of a person 65 years of age or older and 2 counts of Exploitation of elderly victims.
Baptiste, a cleaning lady, was recently hired. She showed up to work a second time on the morning of June 29, 2019, after she had gained the victims’ trust. Baptiste cleaned their home. Later that evening at around 5:00 pm, the victims noticed a few pieces of jewelry missing /stolen.
Investigation revealed Christine Baptiste visited a local Pawn Shop and pawned the victims’ items on the same day they were reported missing/stolen.
The victims positively identified their jewelry valued over five thousand dollars. Christine Baptiste is currently housed at the St Lucie County Jail.
